I recently completed the Oxfam Trailwalker. It’s a 100 kilometre non-stop event through some of the toughest terrain in Sydney – across mountains, through valleys, around rivers.
At 3 am in the morning, after hiking continuously for 20 hours, I tripped over a tree root and completely lost my shit. I was hungry, freezing, exhausted and wondering why the bloody hell I was doing the stupid event anyway.
But a friend, an incredible friend, lent me a hand and my perspective changed radically.
Completing the walk, I was reminded of two powerful things:
1. that success is always a team effort and;
2. that nothing worth having comes easy
It’s something I talked about in depth with Mia Freedman recently. In a candid conversation, we discussed everything from my life with Michael, and our recent engagement, to my recovery from the fire and my approach to challenges.
