Hey champ,
Just a quick one from me today.
But first, a quick shout out to all the legends joining me in School of Champions this week! I’m so honoured and so bloody STOKED that you’ve chosen to take the leap into SOC, and wowza talk about breakthroughs already! I am loving reading your emails and your posts in the private FB group.
The doors to this intake will close in a few days so if you want to join us, or know someone who would love to join, now is your chance!
OK, so in my blog last week, I talked a little about why I believe progress = happiness.
To recap that post, I believe that when you’re making progress in your life, i.e. when you set a goal and begin to do the work to improve something in your life, bit by bit, happiness is a guaranteed by-product.
But what if you have too many things you want to achieve? How do you choose which goal to set and work towards?
This is a question I’ve been asked a LOT in the last week.
Now, when people go through SOC, they get access to a whole stack of strategies they can use to figure out which goal is right for them.
But if you want my “in a nutshell” answer to this question “How do I choose which goal to chase?”, it’s this:
Choose the goal that most excites you. Choose something you want to do (even though it might scare you a bit).
I know, when there’s plenty of things you feel you ‘need’ to achieve first, leaning into a goal that seems more exciting can seem counterproductive, and maybe even frivolous. But it’s not!
The bottom line is, achieving ANY goal is gonna take hard work, commitment and energy. You may as well choose to spend that time and energy on something that gives you some excitement and energy back!
After all, when you achieve your goal you’re gonna gain crazy levels of confidence and resilience PLUS you’re gonna get a whole new perspective on what you are capable of. Hint: it’s always more than you think!
And all of that can spur you on to achieve the other goals on your list.
So, if you’ve got a list of things you want or need to achieve, and don’t know which one to focus on, choose the one that excites you the most!
In that vein, I wanted to share a little snippet of a SOC strategy with you today.
This next activity will help you tap into the things that excite you.
So, whether you’re stuck on what goal to chase, or want to rethink the goals you have in mind, answer the below questions. They’ll help you tap into a new perspective and a whole lot of excitement!
You ready?
OK, grab a pen and some paper and then answer these questions:
What did you love to do as a kid?
What do you love to do that you haven’t done in a long time?
How would you live your life, if you knew you could not fail?
I know these questions seem simple, but they are powerful.
Answer them honestly.
They’ll allow you to tap into a whole list of things that truly excite you and light you up, and might just give you the kickstart you need.
So, that’s it champ.
Give that strategy a go, and let me know if you’ve chosen a goal that excites you – in the comments below.
Over and out,
Turia x
