My doomsday list

By January 11, 2021May 14th, 2021No Comments

On the 1st of January last year, I wrote a list.

Not a list of goals and resolutions for the year ahead…..

I wrote a doomsday list.

Here’s a screenshot (‘scuse the typos!):

See, as you probably remember, my small town on the South Coast of NSW (Yuin Country) had been surrounded by out of control bushfires for days. The roads were blocked north and south, leaving us all trapped with no power and no phone signal.

So, I wrote my list. Things I needed to have organised and on hand in case of another emergency in future. If we needed to evacuate, I wanted to have cash, and camping gear and stuff on hand.

(And yes, 2020 would see me add more emergency must haves to my list. Toilet paper, hand sanitiser, and masks to name a few!).

Now, maybe it might seem a bit fatalist and dramatic to have a list like this.

But I think it’s practical to plan for the worst case scenario. To have back up plans.

Not just for extreme emergencies (like, um, the end of the world ?), but in other areas of your life too.

Because there are always gonna be times in your life when things go wrong.

Especially when you have kids.

That’s one of the reasons I created RUN with Turia – my new running program for Mums.

I know that, for me at least, half the battle of getting out the door to go for a run, is just that – getting out the door! I can meticulously organise my week and it can all go to crap a millisecond later. The kids get sick, or Michael might need to head to Sydney for work, or the babysitter cancels last minute. I need back up plans. Always!

So, I wanted to create a space where Mums had support to make their running goals happen.

A flexible training program – one that you can schedule around the needs of your delightful, tantrum-having, sick-getting, cherub-like children. The support of other Mums (whose children have also thrown chicken wings into the bath) and my tips on how to prioritise and doomsday-ify your running sessions.

It kicks off in Feb, so if you’re interested in joining us, or learning more about how it all works, pop your name on the waitlist and I’ll keep you in the loop!
