After the fire, lots of doctors tried to prepare me for the new ‘limitations’ of my body.
I listened, sort of. But I was determined to run again. And not just run. I wanted to do an Ironman. What I didn’t realised was how much more running would become for me – in my recovery, for my well-being, as a business person and now as a Mum.
Today on the pod we celebrate one of the mums who joined Run with Turia and realised that running was much more for her too. I’d love you to listen to her story too.
I’m so proud of the crew inside RUN with Turia. And I love getting to share in moments like these with them.
Because learning how to run, or returning to running, is empowering.
It’s about so much more than just “getting fit”.
This Mum was getting back on the horse after 10 years. I wouldn’t be surprised if before she started my program she was doubting if she would EVER be able to get back to her old running self. But she was BRAVE. She bet on HERSELF. And through small steps (you know I love small steps), she achieved MORE than what she set out for.
This story also reminded me that your best IS enough. And all we can do is turn up everyday and TRY… your hard work will start paying off in ways you never imagined.
Because doing hard things, like running, returning to work, or stepping your way through a really tough time teaches you that YOU are capable of doing other hard things!
Now, if you’re interested in learning more about how we do things inside Run with Turia, head here to get all the info.
Enrolments are open this week only and won’t open again until October/November.
