You know what I think is crazy?
The idea that our bodies should stay the same throughout our entire lives.
Over the years, I’ve seen my belly grow, and my skin stretch, to accommodate the birth of my children.
I’ve gone from a surfing, running, Ironman-competing, pretty-dress-wearing woman to a sleep-deprived, milk-stained t-shirt wearing, frazzled woman, crying into her empty cup of coffee while tending to said children (and back again!).
And I’ve gone from being a conventionally attractive 20-something to a burn survivor lying in a hospital bed.
You, my friend, are not the same person you were 5, 10, or 15 years age.
It makes sense that your body doesn’t look the same, either.
I chat about this more in today’s ep of the podcast. It’s a short 4 min pep talk you can listen to any time you need a perspective shift about your body.
Listen below:
Let me leave you with this…
Changes make you human. Able to change, able to grow, able to experience all the good, and bad, and sad and hard, and glorious things that make up life.
You, my friend, are capable of change.
It is written all over your body.
And I think that’s wonderful.
Don’t you agree?
If you’re struggling with this whole self love journey, I have something that might help. I recorded some Self Love Audio Notes that you can listen to.
They’re free, and you can pop them on and listen whenever you need reminding that you are, in fact, pretty fucking amazing.
